We woke up to rain pouring down from the skies....we have seen rain, snow and beautiful blue skies and sun through the day. Unfortunately, Johnny wasn't feeling great when he went to bed last night and this morning he was in full illness arrest....102-103 fever, chills and sweats, nausea, headache and congested head.....He felt so badly that he was sick while I am here....but I feel badly that he is sick....period. So our lunch plans with Brittney's dad, Bob and Shannon, her stepmother were minus Johnny. We left him home in bed SICK! Brittney and I went to pick up her car which had been in the shop for FIVE days. Then we drove to meet Bob and Shannon at their home and we drove caravan style to the restaurant. We had lunch at the Stone Inn, a place along the Willamette River in Oregon City. BEAUTIFUL! The road winds along the river and then you climb to a hill where the restaurant overlooks the river. Bob and Shannon had salmon chowder and Cobb salad. Brittney was braver than I was and tried the soup. Britt had a hamburger and I had the 2,000 calorie penne pasta with 3 cheeses and a house salad. Who in this group needs to exercise the most????? ME, ME, ME! We had a wonderful time with Bob and Shannon! Good conversation and good company. They certainly love having Johnny and Brittney here nearby and Johnny working for Bob's company. We drove home and Brittney, Johnny and I all slept for a little bit. We watched the UCLA/Xavier game and then Britt and I drove to pick up P. F. Changs takeout! Sorry Jocey....I know this is your favorite food.....it was DELICIOUS! They even prepared our Chicken Lo Mein without ONIONS. (for Johnny) Now Johnny's fever is back and he is lying on the couch, Britt is working on her Primary lesson, and I finished my most amazing book...I need to pack to leave in the morning. I have loved my time in Portland with Johnny and Brittney.....can't wait to come back in July when John and Jocey can come too.....Thanks so much John and Brittney....You treated me royally. LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU, LOVE YOU!

I am glad you are having a great time. Sorry Johnny is sick!! Veronica, I agree with Shannon, you should go on vacation and leave that *%#@ phone at home!!! You are on it more than any normal person. Hear that children... leave your mother alone when she is on vacation. It is called a vacation for some reason.:>:>:< Love and miss ya!!
Loved seeing your time spent with Johnny and Brit. Oregon looks beautiful. That is terrible that he got sick, but he is lucky to have his mommy and wifey there to take care of him.
