MOUNTAIN WARD MAKEOVER

I can't take a lick of credit for the work on the following link, but I did feel it was significant enough to post about it.  Our youth conference was a service project to redo the outside and kitchen of a home in our area.  This home has been an interesting landmark for as long as I have lived in North Ogden, which is 21 years.  The local newspaper, Salt Lake television stations and newspapers, and even the LDS church news have had write ups or news segments about this remarkable project.  Because of vacation timing, we were in San Diego when the miracle occurred.  I do wish that we could have had this experience after hearing about it from ward members, friends and neighbors.  When the project was almost officially finished, an anonymous donor came forward and asked the youth and volunteers to finish the entire house and yard.  AMAZING!  They worked through the night and weekend, even working Sunday evening with the Bishop's urging and approval.  (He was there running the saw.) The family was to have the unveiling on Monday (the next day---which would be 8 days from start to finish) at 6:00 pm.  This link has pictures which show day to day progress.  I am amazed and humbled by the service so many gave to help this family.  In a day of wanting entertainment, these youth and other adults gave their ALL to make a life long difference.  Take a minute and peek at the link.   mountainwardmakeover.blogspot.com

WOW!!! What a project!! I do remember this house now. The youth of your ward will never forget this project and I hope they are all impressed with themselves and the effort it took. It is amazing!! It was nice that someone took an interest and also that the whole house was able to be finished!! Amazing story ~ love it!!

I think I saw a story about this project on the news. I thought to myself, "wonder if the Wolthuis' know this house." Obviously you did! What a wonderful gift of service to that family.
