MEMORIAL DAY TRADITIONS

Lorin, Gwen, Ann and Gary
El, Emily, Denise and Braxton

Alan, Amelia and Jeff
These are my grandparents, Charles and Reta. This picture was taken the day Megan was blessed almost 30 1/2 years ago. We always meet at their graves.

Memorial Day is always a special holiday for my extended family. We have a tradition of meeting at my Grandpa and Grandma Rex's grave in Randolph and then we drive to other cemeteries in Rich County to put flowers on our loved one's graves.

Today was no exception. We had a wonderful day visiting with each other and we especially shared many happy and funny memories of our family. We ended our cemetery visits at my Aunt El Louise's home in Pickleville. We are especially grateful that she is with us this year after suffering a terrible ATV accident on a highway last August. She has been our 2007 miracle. WE all love her!

This is the last Memorial Day picture of the three REX sisters, Donna, El Louise, and my mother, Charlene. Aunt Donna on the left, passed away unexpectedly just before the next Memorial Day.

I couldn't let the day pass without honoring my dear in-laws, Bart and Ellen. How I miss them and love them. I love this picture taken when we celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. They had such a powerful influence on me and all our family. We love them.

This is the last time I saw my father, Wallace. He passed away 3 months later from pancreatic cancer. The girls and I (other than Emily) drove to St. George to see him at his brother's home. We visited his grave today in Laketown. He passed away September 4, 2003.

This is my great-grandparent's home in Woodruff. Alex and Annie Moss lived here.
We saw hundreds of antelope today between Woodruff and Evanston.
What do you think a Testicle Festival is?????? I need to get more information about this sign in Woodruff.
When I am gone, I hope this Memorial Day tradition will continue. I love that we can honor our loved ones who have loved us, sacrificed for us and have left an amazing legacy for their posterity.
