NOW THIS IS A GOOD IDEA FOR WHEAT FOOD STORAGE USE!
On February 6th my thoughtful and very creative visiting teacher, Deb Nabor, gave me a yellow bucket full of dirt and some visible seeds in the top. She had tied a colorful yarn ribbon around the bucket and gave me instructions to water and watch! In a week, shoots of green slivers of grass began popping up through the dirt. I now have a beautiful bucket of green grass that decorates the kitchen counter and adds that feeling of impending spring. I LOVE IT! Deb told me that she put a handful of gravel in the bottom of the bucket (you could probably find a container at the dollar store) and then filled it with potting soil mixed with her hard wheat (the wheat must be hard) that she has in her food storage. Yes, this is wheat grass. You know how you can have wheat grass added at Jamba Juice......this is it. What an easy and great idea to have for table decorations, parties, a small gift for neighbors and friends, and a guilt free use for that wheat that isn't being used.
