Johnny and Brittney moved to Portland in December 2006. He has been the master of surprise with 4 visits that we didn't know he had planned. Each time he has caught me off guard. I have been totally surprised.
The last surprise visit was in June 2009. Brittney and her dad had gone to New York for a graduation trip and so Johnny secretly planned and informed all of his siblings that he was coming to surprise his parents. Emily and her family also came down for the weekend. She called and told me they were coming for Pleasant View Founder's Day, which I also thought was odd. But of course I was thrilled to have them come for a visit. They all kept his secret perfectly!
On Friday night, June 26th, Brady told us that he had to help his brother move some furniture. He took Paisley with him, which I thought was odd, but left Laurel here with me. Laurel, Emily and I were watching some LifeTime movie. Brady called Laurel after about 40 minutes and she said that she had to go meet Brady because he had forgotten the diaper bag and Paisley was very upset and needed a bottle. So off Laurel goes to meet Brady. Jocelyn is in Europe, John is in bed, and Em and I are watching the movie.
I found out later that poor little Paisley had cried all the way to the airport. Brady had Laurel meet him in Kaysville after he picked up Johnny from the airport. Laurel came in and got on my laptop and told me that Johnny had called them and wanted to ichat with me. Like a dunce, I just started talking to him without looking at who I was really connected too. (Laurel's laptop in the basement) I didn't even realize that Brady was videotaping the whole surprise either. I guess I am not as observant as I thought. As you can see from the video, I was TOTALLY SURPRISED AND HAPPY to have him visit. Next blog will have pictures of our weekend with him here.
Thanks Johnny for always keeping me on my toes!
