Notice Bart and Jared at the end of the table with their cute straws up their noses....they are always making us laugh
Johnny's MTC companion, Matt, happened to be at the game and they enjoyed catching up with each other.
The Wolthuis men after the game, of course you can't see Bart's face because he and Jared are holding up the zero score for UCLA (see how Bart Sr. and John smiled exactly the same way.....as brothers they do so many things alike
Sunday was church, fried chicken, MAY I, and a walk around our old neighborhood. Johnny brought his good looking brown argyle sweater vest for church. It reminded me that John had an argyle vest that I had bought him for Father's Day.....long story short.....John wore his vest too and I had to get a picture of the two John's in their vests.....LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THOSE TWO MEN
In this instance, it was like Son like Father
Monday Johnny and I met Jocelyn after her classes and had lunch at El Matador. Delicious Mexican food and wonderful company. Johnny then went wakeboarding with Brady and Andrew. They had a cove at Pine View Dam to themselves and had a great time. I forgot to send the camera with them so no pictures.....sorry. We enjoyed Monday Night Football on the HD TV (we have had this TV for five years, but didn't have an HD receiver....we now have one and it is awesome)
Tuesday I collected about 75 quilts that the amazing Tuesday Quilters in our Stake Relief Society have finished. I piled them to the ceiling of the car to deliver to the Humanitarian Center in Salt Lake before I took Johnny to the airport. Before leaving Ogden, 8 of us met at Union Grill to eat lunch and visit. Johnny wanted to eat there for their Bread Pudding dessert......it is truly my favorite dessert too. We had a great time with Grandma Char, Uncle Devin, Aunt Mindy, Cousin Ashlyn, Laurel, and Brady.
Uncle Devin, the Ute fan, greeting Johnny, the BYU fan (really they were fighting over Johnny trying to give Devin money for the lunch....thanks for treating all of us Devin!!!
Will they ever grow up?
Brady and Johnny found empty wheelchairs in an area of the train station and proceeded to have races until a man told them to "leave the wheelchairs for someone who really needed them."
Ashlyn was playing tag with Johnny and Brady so I held her hand and ran with her. I love that she calls me 'Aunt Grandma.'
We had a group picture in front of the station fountain.
Ogden has placed about 25 painted horses around the city to reinforce our pioneer/cowboy heritage. They are all unique! Johnny and Brady saying goodbye till Thanksgiving.
Johnny and I headed to the Humanitarian Center and delivered the quilts. What a great service these wonderful sisters provide. With all of the hurricanes just in the US alone, they will be used immediately. We made a quick trip to Temple Square before the airport. What a place of beauty and peace. We enjoyed walking around and admiring the sculptures and flowers. I was especially excited to find Sister Slaughter, who is serving as a missionary on Temple Square. I met her in Los Angeles when Megan and Todd had her to dinner and we were visiting. She is such a great girl. We ended sitting on a couch and meditating while looking at the Christus statue. What a great blessing to have a testimony of our Savior and Redeemer. I love the comfort and hope this knowledge brings to me every day of my life. We were running late to get to the airport, so the rushing made my emotions easier to handle when saying goodbye to my son. I loved the visit and I absolutely love being a wife and mother. I truly couldn't ask for anything else......I love my life!
