HaPPy AnniVERsarY to US!

Yes, this is us, 34 years ago today.  I am not sure exactly what the photographer was going for in this, but I guess we look introspective or contemplating eternity......I didn't know till today that he cut the top of John's head off either, until I pulled the picture out of the photo album to scan.  So I won't speak ill of the dead, but he didn't show up to the temple to take our pictures either.  He wrote down the day after for the temple, but the reception on the correct day.  We are lucky we have any pictures of the day at all.

Despite the photographer, we had a wonderful day.  We were married in the Logan Temple and my great-uncle, Glen Rex, performed the ceremony.  It was so tender and we both cried during our time at the altar.  We then went to Sherwood Hills for a delicious wedding luncheon.  Our wedding reception was in the former White House Reception Center. (now I am not sure what it houses)  I don't think either one of us even had a morsel of the food we served.  We had so many people come (John's dad was the former Mayor of Ogden and also Stake President) that they had to cut the cake and serve it too.  Loved the reception and greeting all the people.  I loved having my relatives there also.  We spent our wedding night in Salt Lake. (a heart shaped tub---to much info, huh)  The next day we set out for San Francisco.  AMAZING!  We even went to church in the ward that Megan and Todd were in when they lived in SF.  We toured the wharf, Sausalito, traveled over the Golden Gate Bridge, and rode the trolley.  Next on our stop was DISNEYLAND and KNOTTS BERRY FARM!  Fun and more fun, even if I wanted to eat every treat we saw for sale.  We finished our honeymoon by driving to Las Vegas and we went to the see The Temptations (doesn't this age us) and Bill Cosby doing his big comedian show. We laughed all night!   This was way before the Cosby show!  We headed home and started our real life as Seniors at Weber State, working part-time, and BEING BLISSFULLY HAPPY!

Thank you John for 34 wonderful years.  They have flown like the space shuttle and I am so grateful for the happiness we have shared.  You are an amazing husband and father....and just today someone at the temple told me you had saved his life 3 times and that you were a great man.  I agreed with everything he said.  You are great and I love you for eternity!  Thank you for all your generosity in every part of our lives. Thank you for your trillion sacrifices for our family.  Thank you for your spirituality and example.  Thank you for your support in letting me spread my wings and be involved in so many things that can take me from home.  Thanks for the beautiful and incredible 5 children!  Words don't adequately express my love and appreciation.  I am excited for our next adventures together and would never want anyone else by my side.  LOVE YOU ALWAYS!
