Today was one of those days when you so appreciate the unexpected blessings which come into your life. Last Friday night, our OLD TV passed away...just like that! I had it repaired in July and the repairman informed me then, that it could not be fixed again....it was so old they didn't make the part for it and he couldn't weld it back to working order once again. So off I jaunt to R C Willey to look at a new TV. Unfortunately, a new TV also meant a new TV stand because the old entertainment center was 110 inches long and is so old it was not designed for a flat screen. It was easy to find a TV and new cabinet. We arranged for the delivery (in a small truck since the last R C Delivery truck almost crashed off of our hill and we almost missed Johnny's college graduation---that is an entirely different story and I am too longwinded as it is) We received at least 8 inches of snow yesterday and that much or more today. We didn't have the truck with the snow plow and so the hill was thick and deep with snow. Two small R C Willey trucks arrived and parked a quarter mile from our house on Mountain Road at the bottom of our hill. Scary, because cars had to drive around them on a blind curve. I drove up and told them not to worry about the delivery because it was too dangerous and I had already arranged for a Saturday delivery because of the snow. Morgan and Roger (the two delivery men) cheerfully told me that they wanted us to have our new TV before Christmas and they were figuring things out. They put the free DVD cabinet in the back of my car and I drove to the garage. Our kind neighbor, Bob, from across the road came over and visited with the men. I looked out the window and saw to my horror, these two men pulling and pushing the TV cabinet up the 8 inch deep snow hill with a hand trolley. They made it to the crest of the first hill and Bob came to the rescue with his four wheel drive truck. They loaded the cabinet and TV in the back of the pickup and slowly made it up the hill with Morgan and Roger in the back of the open truck holding them in place. YES! These kind men made every effort (with the great help of our neighbor) to make their delivery. They easily could have said, "This is too hard. We will come back when there isn't slick ice and snow on the road." But they were determined to do their job and do it well. They set everything up while Bob waited in the truck outside. They even loaded themselves and, our dead TV into the back of the pickup and smiling, rode to the bottom of the hill, put the TV into their truck and off they drove into the blizzard. What a blessing of kindness from THREE WONDERFUL men. Thanks so much!
Blessing #2---We had to take Jocey's car to the dealership to check out a transmission leak. They didn't sound like it would be promising or cheap to have it fixed if the transmission had to be taken out to fix the leak. The service manager called me not long after the TV delivery men left and told me there wasn't a leak that they could see and we could pick up the car. YIPPEE! Arriving at the dealership, I was asked to sign my name to the slip of paper showing I had picked up the car and YES you guessed it. They didn't ask me to pay the $42.00 diagnosis fee. WHAT???? That never happens to me... it is usually someone taking me for much more than something really costs.
Customer service---EXCELLENT!
Kindness---PRICELESS!
