For a few weeks, I have been a little down thinking that we were going to have our first Christmas Eve without the DeVries family.....aka.....grandsons! Emily and Greg decided to have their first Christmas with their boys in Idaho. I totally understood, but still knew we would miss them. We were rolling out the sugar cookie dough and painting our traditional Christmas cookies when Laurel called us to go downstairs to her apartment to see a Bobcat she had just noticed running from under her deck. John, Jocey and I all dashed down the stairs and ran to the windows to see the Bobcat. John even went out on the deck and stomped to scare it from its hiding place. Unfortunately, we didn't see the Bobcat. I started to walk upstairs to finish the cookies and Laurel was right behind me. She said, "Mom, it looks like someone is on the front porch." I opened the door and YES!!!! to my utter surprise, there stood the DeVries family singing 'We Wish You a Merry Christmas.' I could not believe it. I screamed and jumped up and down like a two year old. I then started to cry because I was so happy they had come. What a thoughtful and wonderful Christmas Eve Surprise. I will never forget it.....(Laurel did a great job keeping the secret from all of us and creating a Bobcat situation so they could drive up the hill and appear at our door) Thanks so much Greg and Em!
