What was supposed to be a fun weekend started with a heart stopping scare. I won't go into details other than to say that John was very ill and spent Friday night in the hospital. After a high anxiety drive to the ER, phone calls, plane rides, prayers and a powerful blessing given, we were able to bring John home Saturday, laugh and enjoy time together despite the unfavorable circumstances at first. How grateful I am for FAMILY! Thanks to our children for rushing to our sides and bringing such strength and support to us. Johnny and Brittney, coming from Portland, didn't get to surprise us like they had planned for a month. (they had such a great plan to surprise us too) Megan heard that her dad wasn't doing well and was here from California in five hours. Greg and Emily and boys drove quickly from Idaho so that we were all together. Thanks Grandma Char for being in the waiting room. I wonder how people manage trials and problems without support from family? How do people endure without faith in God and His power? What was a terrifying problem ended up being a blessing in disguise so that we found out things we didn't know healthwise, and the experience made us be proactive in finding answers and pursuing tests to correct health issues. Hindsight always brings clarity, doesn't it? In the midst of things, Cameron answered Jocey for the dance and she took a few pictures. I can't believe I didn't get pictures of everyone together....pictures were the last thing on my mind. But I won't ever forget the memories of coming together, sharing love, and remembering that FAMILY IS FIRST, LAST, AND EVERYTHING!

Following Jocey's theme, Cameron answered
With toilet paper....still some hanging in the trees!

I did take one picture of Colton in a BYU hat!
He is not a true BYU fan yet...but we are working on it!

I'm so happy you could all be together when you needed it the most!!! Such a blessing to now know things that can be helped. I love you!!!
Although it wasn't fun what brought us together, we had the best weekend. Thanks for being such a great Mom, I love you! Love the picture of Colton in the BYU hat!
My heart stopped beating for just a moment as I read your blog. The hospital run, phone calls, anxiety and family coming from all over hits a little too close to home right now. Not to mention my worry over Uncle John!! I'll call you after work and we can talk. By the way, I found the best picture of my mom and John when they were younger. They are so cute! Send John my best and I will pray for him--that is one thing I have learned to do: Pray REALLY HARD!!!!
so sorry you had to go through this, i'm glad it ended up being a blessin in disguise though. our thoughts are with you
Oh my goodness, I am so sorry that you guys had to have that crisis. I am just glad that he is okay and that you were able to figure out what will help him. When Laurel told me that everyone came I thought that was so sweet. What a great family you have. You are all so strong. We are praying for you guys. Hope everything else is okay. Brady and I love you and your whole family.
I love you and your family so much! I do not know what I would do without you!! My heart stopped when I got the phone call about John and I am so glad that things were better than we expected. Thank you for all you do! You are a wonderful mom, wife, friend, daughter and especially SISTER!!! Love you lots!!
When I heard that John was in the hospital, my heart almost stopped! I'm glad that everything is going better now and that it's all working out! Like you said, it's better to know so you can be proactive. So fun that your family could all come together when it was needed the most! What an amazing family you have! I want that one day. You are all in my prayers! Give everyone my love! Love you!
We are so glad we could be with you this weekend. We had so much fun considering the circumstances. We are glad John is okay, we love you!
I am glad to know that things are better now. I was worried when I started to read the blog. You have such a great family. I love all of y'all!
Veronica, I couldn't believe it when my mom told me what happened. I love you and miss you. You have such an awesome family!
We have to have faith in the MAN IN PLAID! The polyester in his veins makes him invincible and sexy! Just ask my sister and Janet Reno! I found the "gown humor" to be true John Scot, and now that he has a new way to arrive home with slurrrr in his stroke-induced-posture, LONG LIVE PLAID (especially contrasting sport coats and slacks),,,, Very Sexy!
I have been a little absent from blogging lately. I just read your post, and my stomach dropped. I am so sorry you had such a terrible scare, but I am relieved everything turned out fine. Life is so fragile, as we have all been reminded lately. Your family is sweet, I am glad you were able to be together and support one another. I am so lucky to have married into such an amazing (extended) family!
