We enjoyed attending Megan and Todd's ward on Sunday. Christy, the girl in Megan's apartment complex, went with us also. I think Christy will start being active in the ward and it will be wonderful for her. She ate Sunday dinner with us and we got to know her better. She is a wonderful girl.
John had two encounters with women at the airport.....we had a woman pilot on our Southwest flight.....John had to tease me about that.....the pilot did great...our landing was smooth as silk! Standing in line to board the plane John recognized a WNBA player that was just behind us. She played in Utah and know teaches high school there. My husband is pretty awesome to give the female athlete props!
We ate at a place in Manhattan Beach called Pancho's. It had great Mexican food and had a great atmosphere with lots of trees and plants indoors.
Jocelyn read and texted during dinner....she even dropped her phone a full floor down to the tile and believe it or not....it still works!
After lunch we were off to 'Dark Knight.' We hurried and watched 'Batman Begins' on DVD in the morning, so we were up to speed on the movie and where the second one began. Of course I wanted Jocey to stand with The Hulk. (we made her leave her book in the car) Dark Knight is a little depressing.....I think I liked Batman Begins better. We will have to wait for the next one now.
Jocey is terrified of The Hulk (pretty good actress)
Jocey's brothers-in-law surely love her!
You can't go to LA and not eat at In and Out. Love the place....We stopped at the book store and 18 out of 20 people in line at Barnes and Noble were buying Stephenie Meyer's book, 'Breaking Dawn.' I read that the publishes have already ordered 500,000 more copies printed because she sold over 1.2 million copies of the book in the first 24 hours....WOW! Happy for the BYU graduate!
Our book readers.....Jocelyn hasn't stopped reading 'Breaking Dawn'

Tell Joce that I can't wait to read this book; unfortunately, I don't want to buy it so I am waiting to borrow it from someone (hope they hurry). Looks like you had fun in L.A. Megan looks great! You sure fly a lot (for someone terrified of flying) but the perks outweight the disadvantage of having to fly. Love you guys!
My darling friend, Veronica. If you aren't the most traveling person I have ever seen. That is wonderful! Just go until you drop.
I am so glad you all went up to LA. Looked like fun. We haven't seen Dark Knight yet and probably won't. It is too dark! Ha! Shane went this weekend to Charlotte and saw it at an IMAX theater. He liked it. I will stick to Mamma Mia and the like. Well, you know about the sale of the condo. We are so happy! Maybe one of these days we will be back out there to visit. You can always come here if you want! It is probably better we not say goodbye, huh? Love you and please keep in touch with me. TaWanna
What a fun trip! Joce is so cute! We watched the first Batman before too and I think it was good to get the reminder of what was going on.
I am glad you had a great time. I wish I could have gone. I can't wait for the book. I am dying to read it!
I'm glad you got to go and that you had a great time!! Are Jocey and (big)John related because they sure don't act like each other. For someone that doesn't like flying, you sure are gone quite a bit! I'm glad you had fun and Megan loves having you there!! Love ya!!
Looks like you had a great time! We love and miss you all. Glad you enjoyed your trip!
Brady and I missed out on a fun trip except I would have been the one chucking jocey's phone down one level (i just don't understand texting). Missed you guys and am glad you could all be together.
Thank you so much for coming...I absolutely love when you are all here...can't wait for your next visit!
This is for Joce: we'll have to talk when you finish the book so that we can discuss...I'm not a huge fan. Twilight is my favorite by far. I hope the movie does it justice. I guess we'll see in 4 months!
Veronica, this is Cherisse. Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. It's always fun to find people you know. I'm glad to see that your family is doing so well. You have a beautiful family. Yes, we will be going to China fall '09. Ryan will study at a university there and then they'll find him an internship. Then he'll be in law school the next fall, here in the US. Exciting times. Keep in touch.
