Waiting at the train hub---Cannon, Jocelyn, Emily, Crew, Colton and Grandma Char
We decided to take the new Front Runner Train from Ogden to Salt Lake. We had a terrific time and decided that mass transit is a wonderful choice. The boys have had an obsession with trains and they were excited to ride on a REAL train. It is very clean and easily accessible. It wasn't too crowded at first but by the time we reached Salt Lake it was quite full of riders.

Crew was given the best traveler award
The train stops 4 blocks from The Gateway and the train ticket allows you to ride Trax and any UTA bus also. We had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen (Yummy---you must try the Chopped Barbeque Chicken Salad or the Santa Fe Pizza) The boys changed into swim suits and they spent time in the Olympic water fountains. The summer heat brought many children, teenagers, and adults to play in the water. Colton and Cannon had a blast using their lunch cups to try and catch the water. On the hour, they play the Olympic theme song from 2002 and the water shoots skyward. It is wonderful to watch!

The water falls from above after being shot up from the ground like a cannon
Everyone was tired after our day trip. We caught Trax and headed to the train hub and off we went watching I 15 traffic stop and go as we passed them. Cannon eventually conked out and slept along with Emily, Jocelyn and Crew. Grandma Char, Colton and I relaxed! Home again and good memories of a fun train ride day.

Those pictures are great. I missed a great day. You are the best grandma and are always making sure those boys have a good time.
I'll have to try the train next time we're there!! Looks like a fun day!
What a fun day! Wish I could have come home sooner to go...one day...
You are the world's most perfect grandma! I am taking notes so that I can put together a grandma guide book for myself when I get to be a grandma! Thanks for being such a cute example for the rest of us!
