Two Fun Days in PORTLAND

We have had tons of fun so far with our trip to Portland.  The plane ride wasn't too bad and I only put the book over my head twice.  So John and Jocelyn weren't too embarrassed by my flying terror.
Brittney picked us up at the airport and then we met Johnny for lunch at Subway.  We went to John's work and visited with the gang and then went to their condo until Johnny finished at work.  We celebrated Johnny's and Jocelyn's birthdays at P. F. Changs, their favorite restaurant.  ABSOLUTELY YUMMY!  We went to a new dessert place later.  It is called 'Pudding on the Rice.'  It was started in Provo and now there is one in Tigard.  The creator and owner is in Brittney's brother's ward here.  This place has almost 50 variations of Rice Pudding.  It was delicious.  Of course, Brittney, Jocey and I had to end the day watching 'So You Think You Can Dance.'
Today we started early and went for 12 hours straight.  John and I walked to Albertson's and back while the kids still slept.  It is at least 20 degrees cooler here than in Utah.  The weather is beautiful.  We went to downtown Portland and shopped a little and then in the afternoon we met Brittney's dad, Bob, and drove in terrible traffic to get to their Boat house.  We spent an incredible time on Bob and Shannon's boat.  It was wonderful!  I was so happy that John could be with us this year.  Bob and Shannon were so gracious to take us on the boat last summer when John wasn't with us.
I had to take a picture of all the bridges we went under while we were on the boat going back to downtown Portland.  Bob is an expert at parking his boat at the dock between other big boats.
We finished the evening by walking around a kind of yuppie area by the Beaver's AAA baseball team and eating great pizza and splurged with Skinnidip yogurt!  I need to walk 20 miles to work off the calories.
We ate too much at P. F. Changs

Our cute waitress took our picture

A neat plaza at Pioneer Place in Downtown Portland

Look at the funny sculptures of pigs and beavers around town

What would be a trip to Portland without seeing a Smart Car? Look at this convertible Smart Car.  We also saw this green electric car downtown at a charging station for cars.  Pretty 'GREEN,'  huh?

Johnny and Jocey were making Mommy smile

CAN YOU BELIEVE ALL THE BRIDGES WE WENT UNDER WHEN WE BOATED ON THE WILLAMETTE?  We had to call ahead to a lookout box on the top of this final bridge to have them raise the bottom of the bridge so the boat could get under it safely.  It was pretty neat to watch.

THANKS SO MUCH BOB AND SHANNON!  IT WAS A PERFECT AFTERNOON! WE COULDN'T ASK FOR A MORE WONDERFUL TIME.
