CANNONISMS

I have been in Idaho Falls this week with Emily and the boys while Greg is in San Francisco at a work seminar. It has been very busy and makes me remember those days when I had three little children 4 1/2 years old and under. GREAT MEMORIES! Emily is amazing and does so well managing her busy life and doing for everyone else. She is super-woman!
One definition in the dictionary of the word CANON means "an established or basic rule or principle." Our little 4 year old grandson, Cannon, (with two n's) says the funniest and yet very profound things, so I have started to call them Cannonisms. He is the embodiment of the word "Canon."
Cannon is not a good sport when he plays games. Colton, Cannon and I were playing the card game, Thomas the Train Fish. Cannon had a little temper flare (after cheating and not telling the truth about cards in his hand) and so I said, "Cannon, grandma is disappointed in you for throwing the cards." He just looked at me and was thoughtful. After a minute, he said, "I'm never growing up." I said, "Why aren't you ever growing up?" He responded, "You get old and die." Then matter-of-factly, he said, "You're old and you'll die." Well, I can't argue with that, can I? When I arrived on Monday, Emily was sitting at the dining room table with her new mac laptop. It had just been delivered. After visiting with Cannon a few minutes he said, "Mom likes her "puter" more than me." (I am not sure why he calls the computer, puter.) I can testify that Emily does LOVE Cannon more than her "puter." His most laugh out loud, Cannonism was when he said, "Grandma, I am not listening to you anymore. You are trying to teach me another language." This was said after I told him he couldn't say the word "camed" and he kept putting 'ed' at the end of many of his words. It is true that kids say the funniest things.

I can't believe you didn't talk about his laziness. It drives me crazy.

I think it is funny that you are actually playing cards with them. Don't you know that cards are of the devil! Just kidding! (Remember Emily and Megan....) Good times! Love y'all.
