Nervous and driving north on I-15, Greg finally called about 10:15 to tell me that our little grandson was born and had been given a clean bill of health by the pediatrician. Of course after 5 months of worry and concern about the health of the baby, I began to cry and give a prayer of thanks. What a blessing to have him here and safe and healthy.
Creed Jackson DeVries was born at 8:57 a.m.
Creed weighed 7 pounds and 10 ounces and is 21 1/2 inches long
Jocelyn drove quickly from Rexburg and stayed with Crew while I finally was able to go and meet Creed for the first time.
Aunt Jocelyn's first meeting with her new nephew
Have you ever heard of a c-section baby having
to be pulled out with a vacuum because he was
stuck under mommy's ribs???? This explained
poor Emily's pain under her ribs and into her back.
One of the nursery nurses had to come and take a peek at Emily. She told Em that she wanted to see what the mom looked like that had a baby named Creed wearing a black knit hat with skull buttons on it. I don't think she expected sweet angelic looking Emily. All the nurses loved the hat that Emily had been given as a baby gift.
I brought the older boys to see their brother in the evening. The hospital will not let you visit if you are under 18 years of age, unless you are the siblings of a new baby. All young children must wear a mask and wash their hands vigorously.
When Cannon heard his brother's name he told me, "Grandma
my brother's name is Creed Jackson Hole DeVries." Cannon can
really come up with some great thoughts to make me laugh.
Colton is such a good oldest brother. He is always looking out for his little brothers.
Greg surprised Emily and brought Crew to visit on Wednesday.
Crew didn't seem very interested in his new brother. He had more
fun pushing the baby's bassinet and moving the chair around. Notice
he didn't keep his mask on very long.
Emily could barely get Crew to look at baby Creed.
Does baby Creed look like...............
Baby Crew??????????
I already adore this new little grandson Creed. I can't wait to have a whole week with him and hold him, sing to him, cuddle with him and just soak in his baby scent and sweetness. Love you Creed!
